Isadoora Theatre Company calls all actors, aspiring talent, and interested community members to open auditions for its October production of Jeffrey Hatcher's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, directed by Henry C. Timm.
A faithful yet abstract telling of the story of a well-meaning scientist and physician whose scientific experiments unleash his evil nature, which emerges in his alter ego, this Edgar Award-nominated play includes six roles: four males and two females, several of whom play multiple characters throughout.
Director Henry Timm explains that he wishes to capitalize on the unique production opportunities of the late 19th century theater, concentrating on the stylized techniques of sound and movement as exemplified in melodrama and silent film.
Auditions: 6:30PM Monday, August 23 at Björklunden Lodge, 7590 Boynton Lane, Baileys Harbor. 6:30PM Tuesday, August 24 at Hope Church, 141 S. 12th Avenue., Sturgeon Bay.
A prepared piece is not necessary for your audition, but will be considered if you have one. Materials will be provided at the auditions, which will consist primarily of cold readings from the script. Individuals with head shots and theatrical resumes are encouraged to bring this material.
Rehearsals will begin as soon as possible after casting and may include some weekend dates.
Questions regarding auditions should be directed to Henry at 920-854-4269.
